Course objectives
The course builds on preparation of a leisure product focusing on cultural and historical theme/cultural heritage. The aim is implementation of a selected product (short-term excursion/tour) in the range of usually 5 days in the Czech Republic or abroad. Students and representatives of the public participate in the tour under the pedagogical guidance. Emphasis is set on verifying the level of theoretical preparation of a product, organizational and technical support, price calculation and quality of tour guide preparation. At the end of the realization, the product is evaluated, especially regarding its thematic focus and its fulfilment, the quality of guide services in terms of their technical support and especially the level of presentation and animation of cultural heritage. Final calculation and billing is prepared, and an overall product evaluation is carried out.
Learning outcomes
Ability to prepare a leisure product on a given topic in cultural history, to determine the basic organizational principles, under the supervision of the teacher and the department, the content of the tour / excursion / stay product focusing on a selected topic in regional history, cultural history, history of art, cultural tourism, etc.
Syllabus
  • 1. – 2. Recapitulation of the product preparation focusing on the selected topic of cultural history/heritage.
  • 3. Realization of a tourist product (in the scope of about 5 days).
  • 4. Preparation of final calculation and billing.
  • 5. Analysis and evaluation of product preparation, implementation, calculation, and billing.
