Course objectives
To acquaint students with the basic knowledge of archeology of early and high Middle Ages. After the definition of the Middle Ages discuss its use in evaluating different sites in Western and Central Europe in time. The main focus of interpretation is familiar with the basic methods of research of medieval monuments, their dating and archaeological documentation. Discussed will be the main areas of real estate, castles, villages, fortified and movable monuments, ceramics, glass and iron. Attention will be paid to basic technologies objects generated during the archaeological excavations. Students should obtain basic information about the archeology of the early and high Middle Ages.
