Course objectives
The main objective is to introduce students to the principles of experimental archeology. Using experiments, we will investigate production processes, lifestyle and other activities related to the issue. Students can virtually try an experiment on the chosen topic. Emphasis will be placed on the accuracy of technological processes.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction - historical introduction, the Common Terminology
    2. Ceramics I. - how to make the subject of clay.
    3. Ceramics II. - construction of ceramic furnaces and firing ceramics.
    4. Working stone - chipping and grinding.
    5. Work with metal I. - obtaining raw materials, smelting.
    6. Work with metal II. - finishing, decorating products.
    7. Textil I. - obtaining raw materials, production status.
    8. Textil II. - Production of clothes dyeing.
    9. Foods - preparing meals.
    10. Transport I. - experimental production monoxyl.
    11. Transport II. - experimental production monoxyl.
    12. Transport III. - experimental production monoxyl.
    13. Final test
