Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the most important company texts with the help of examples from company practice. Attention is paid to both external and internal corporate communication. However, the focus is on business correspondence and advertising and promotional texts (external corporate communications). In the exercises, students will get acquainted with the structure of the mentioned texts, which they will then learn to create themselves in the form of practical tasks. In doing so, they will acquire the appropriate vocabulary and grammar. Differences between formal and informal communication will also be taken into account.
Learning outcomes
The student is able to identify and summarize important features of the most important company texts. The student is able to create these texts.

  • 1. Professional correspondence: introduction 2. Formal editing of business texts, DIN standards 3. Formal and informal e-mails 4. Business correspondence I (appointment, short message, confirming e-mail, invitation, thank you note) 5. Business correspondence II (inquiry) 6. Business correspondence III (offer, order) 7. Business correspondence IV (cancellation of the order, confirmation of receipt of the order) 8. Business correspondence V (delivery note, confirmation of receipt of delivery, invoice) 9. Business correspondence VI (reminder, insolvency notice, confirmation of payment) 10. Business correspondence VII (complaints) 11. External company communication (press release, advertising and marketing text, brochure, texts on social networks) 12. Documents for competitions (cover letter, CV) 13. Summary
