Course objectives
The course will provide students with basic knowledge in the field of passive and semiconductor devices and their properties, including elemental design of simple electronic circuits and verification in practical involvement. The course is designed as preparatory for other items based of the basic knowledge of electronics.
Syllabus
  • Physical fundamentals of semiconductors. Introduction ; molecule and the binding of atoms. The crystalline structure of matter . Defects in the crystal lattice , subsidies. Basic properties of semiconductors ; own semiconductors , half semiconductors , current conduction in semiconductors , the basic properties of semiconductor junction , the Fermi level , band model of transition , tunneling , transition metal - semiconductor PN junction , VA ( volt-ampere characteristics) and its description, puncturing the transition in reverse direction ( avalanche , Zener , temperature , surface ) . Technology of PN junctions.
    Semiconductor devices . Discrete semiconductor devices with two transitions : diodes (rectifiers , avalanche , stabilizing, Zener , tunnel , capacitance , and switching RF ) equivalent circuit diodes , switching , the basic application , performance, characteristics and use of VA ; bipolar transistors : the nature of activity - effect transistor , PNP and NPN transistor , design, h / y characteristics and use, basic wiring transistor ( SB , SE, SC ) and the characteristics of participation and use, limit the transistor parameters ; unipolar transistor ( JFET, MOSFET) , the nature of activities FET , design, characteristics , basic diagrams, characteristics of impoverished and enriched , basic applications , switching semiconductor devices : diode dvoubázová , diac, thyristor , triac , VA volt-ampere characteristics , on and off , use the basic connection . Quantum Electronics - laser, maser . Optoelectronic components : photoresistors , phototransistors , Photothyristors , optocouplers . Display elements , LED, liquid crystals , the use of a diagram. Thermistors and other semiconductor devices ( Hall sensor , magneto - transistor varistrory etc.) ; solar cells, the principle of operation . Packaging , assembly and cooling of semiconductor devices. Transistor amplifiers . And stabilize the operating point of a single - transistor amplifier . Properties of the amplifier stages and their sequence in multistage amplifiers . Amplifier stages with DC and AC coupled , by DC, LF and HF . The basic power audio applications with transistors ? amplifiers in class A, B , AB , C, H , etc.
