Course objectives
Lecture series seeks candidates offer a general overview over the main stages and the most important trends older art. With regard to the time allotment is limited mainly to the impairment of European art from the 2nd in the early 16th century with the necessary overlap in both directions and only partial special-purpose digressions outside the European continent. The main axis of interpretation are watching gradual stylistic changes and the spill over of one style in the following key characteristics and styles mature at an early stage , late- stage. Emphasis is placed on innovative moments of the utmost importance, gradually enriching the artistic traditions. Anastázie a památník Scaligerů.
    20. Římské mozaiky konce 13.- počátku 14. století, vazba s nástěnným malířství, Jacopo Toritti, Pietro Cavallini a další; toskánské malířství sklonku 13. - 1. poloviny 14. věku, Cimabue, Giotto, Duccio, Simone Martini, bratři Lorenzettiové ad.; malířství v ostatních částech Itálie, pozice boloňské školy, Benátky, Modena.
    21. Německá gotická architektura, sochařství a řezbářství 13.-14. století.
    22. Gotické umění 13. - 1. poloviny 14. století v Čechách, na Moravě, ve Slezsku a Malopolsku, v Uhrách; společné a rozdílné v architektuře, počátky sochařství a řezbářství, nástěnné malby a knižní iluminace.
    23. Parléřovské umění 14. - počátku 15. století ve střední Evropě, souvislosti s vývojem v Anglii, v Pobaltí, ve Francii a v Itálii; architektura, sochařství, řezbářství, umělecké řemeslo; dílo Petra Parléře, katedrála sv. Víta v Praze, předpoklady a počátky tzv. krásného slohu a jeho souvislosti s evropským internacionálním slohem; české a moravské deskové, knižní a nástěnné malířství 14. věku.
    24. Claus Sluter a evropské sochařství přelomu 14. a 15. století; burgundské a nizozemské malířství sklonku 14.-15. století, Robert Campin, bratři Eyckové, Rogier van der Weyden, Hugo van der Goes ad.
    25. Německé umění pozdní gotiky 15.- počátku 16. století, vazby s polským a uherským uměním; sochařství a řezbářství (Hans Multscher, Michael Pacher, Tilmann Riemenschneider, Veit Stoss, Pavel z Levoče); malířství; problematika počátků recepce renesance v díle Albrechta Dürera, malíři a rytci na sklonku středověku a na prahu novověku (Martin Schongauer, Matthias Niedthardt, Hieronymus van Aaken, Lucas Cranach st., tzv. Podunajská škola atd.).
    26. Otázky kolem nerovnoměrného přechodu gotiky v renesanci v jednotlivých částech Evropy, situace v Toskánsku a ve Florencii kolem roku 1400, úloha Říma a Gentile da Fabriano, poměry v zaalpské Evropě, proměna zobrazovacího "kódu" a odkaz středověku.
