Course objectives (in Czech)

Cílem kurzu je zprostředkovat účastníkům orientaci v základních otázkách týkajících se současných britských reálií. Důraz bude kladen na rozvoj kompetencí v oboru, schopnost diskutovat o odborných tématech souvisejících s britskými reáliemi, rozvoj kritického myšlení a motivaci účastníků k dalšímu sebevzdělávání v dané problematice. Zvláštní důraz bude rovněž kladen na konfrontaci britských reálií s českými. Sylabus: 1. Britain - the country and its people 2. The dominance of England 3. Climate, land and settlement 4. Regional geography 5. Attitudes 6. Formality and informality 7. Political life 8. The monarchy 9. Parlament 10. The House of Lords 11. Law and justice 12. Court procedure Požadavky na studenta: K obsahovému zaměření viz sylabus předmětu. Kontrola proběhne formou zkoušky na konci semestru.
