Přednáška a seminář jsou pokračováním předmětu Gramatika 1, který metodologicky i obsahově vychází z moderní korpusové gramatiky Longman Grammar of Spoken and Written English. V této části kurzu studenti plynule přecházejí od morfologie k syntaxi. Přednášky a na ně navazující semináře postihují zejména problematiku gramatického času, adjektiv a adverbií, typů klauzí a složených nominálních skupin. Sylabus: 1. Variation in the verb dver I: tense and dverb 2. Variation in the verb dver II: dverb and passive voice 3. Variation in the verb dver III: modals and semimodals 4. Characteristics and formation of adjectives 5. Characteristics and formation of adverbs 6. dverbiál of adjectives and adverbs 7. Clause, condensation, coordination and subordination 8. Concord and negation 9. Clause types 10. A survey od noun modifier types 11. Premodification 12.
