- Course objectives
- Familiarization with the different types and kinds of knowledge organization and subject retrieval language, i.e. classification and artifical retrieval languages and subject control and retrieval languages based on natural language. Elementary teaching retrieval languages of bibliographic databases. Familiarization with the applicable standards and tools of subject control. Mastering the basic methods and skills of creation filing term of the most widely used subject retrieval languages.

- Teacher's information
- Classification by UDC. Subject cataloguing - using of subject cataloguing of the National Library subject heading language and fundamentals of the creation of controlled vocabularies. The student must individually prove the skills from the missed hours by the short written test during the test. The exam will be oral, in the case of more students, there is a possibility to arrange the written tests. (The test will contain four questions overall). The oral exam will consist of two questions, or additional questions. Correction term in the case of interest and a proper examination dates will be announced at the end of the examination period.
