- Course objectives
- Students will acquire basic knowledge of MS Windows and MSDN within the programming language Visual Basic.
- Syllabus
- Available objects for communication between the user and OS resources, work with files.
Event Handler in the program menu and dialogs, objects Common Dialog Object.
Advanced user interface - Context menu, help, button bar, MDI, Drag and Drop.
Error handling routines for handling errors.
Drawing and special effects incl. animation.
Mass data processing - access to the database.
Communication program with ext. HW resources eg: RS232, HP-IB, Centronics, TCP/IP.
Distribution program. Testing, debugging and compiling the program. Using the "Application Setup Wizard" to create an install version of the final software product.
Content of practices:
The practice will focus on the creation of simple applications under development environment Microsoft Visual .Net Studio using object-oriented access to the basic components of MS Windows.

- Teacher's information
- To obtain the credit, students must hand in a semester project. The semester project consists of a program created by students, on a theme obtained after a consultation with the lecturer, by the midway through the teaching period. The program must be functional and error free and will perform on the theme.
The exam consists of a consultation on the semester project. The evaluation of the project will focus on the overall completion, namely: the reliability of the created program, used algorithm and equipment, student's personal contribution towards the work on the theme, possibilities of further development of the program and also students' understanding of the issues and the acquired knowledge during the course.
