Course objectives
The aim is to provide a comprehensive survey of 3D computer graphics methods. Theoretical explanation is accompanied by practical demonstrations and interactive demonstrations using Mathematica.
Syllabus
  • 3D models. Curves and surfaces. Representation and solid modeling, volumetric representation of solids. Procedural modeling.
    Displaying 3D data I. Screening, light and lighting, visibility, shadows and textures.
    Displaying 3D data II. Scene representation. Global imaging methods, visualization of volume data. Non-photorealistic imaging.
    Computer animation. Low-level and high-level animation. Skeletal animation. Virtual humanoid. Calculations of visibility, simplifying the scene.
    Virtual Reality. Application of virtual reality. Background of the scene, Avatar and navigation, stereoscopy. VRML and X3D formats. Surround sound.
