- Course objectives
- The seminar focuses on the area of everyday life of country society in the early modern period. Elements of both material and spiritual culture are emphasized that are characteristic for the so called traditional country society with respect to specifics of central European and mainly Czech environment. The structure of country society will be analyzed from the point of view of both material background and productivity, and further social categories such as gender or age. Everyday behavior of an individual in the environment of a country community will stand in the center of interest. Interaction of country vassals with other early modern social environments (mainly with authorities and urban society) and handling the vassal problem in the 18th century represent another issue range.
