Course objectives
The objective of the course is to familiarize students with the latest trends in knowledge management. Case studies of knowledge management methods and approaches in organizations will be analyzed, and the principles and procedures most characteristic for the recent knowledge management will be emphasized and generalized. The selection of case studies and further study resources will be organized in synergy with the topic of PhD thesis of the student, contributing thereby to the development of his/her orientation in this field and to the PhD thesis progress.

  • 1. Knowledge discovery, capturing and creation.
    2. Information acquiring and its eventual transforming to knowledge.
    3. Classification and representation of knowledge.
    4. Knowledge storage and sorting.
    5. Knowledge distribution. Knowledge sharing, self-learning organizations.
    6. Corporate culture and knowledge management.
    7. Ethical, cultural, social and psychological aspects of knowledge management.
    8. Information-processing technology in knowledge management.

Teacher's information
A literature review of selected topics of knowledge management due to the teacher's selection related to the PhD thesis of the student. An oral exam - minimum success rate 50%.
