- Course objectives
- The aim of this lecture course is the overview of modern history of Silesia, i. e. the period after the split of Silesia in 1742. The accent is on the region of former Austrian Silesia (1742-1918) and contmporary Czech Silesia. However basic data will be delivered on the history of Prussian Silesia, too. The course emphasizes the provincial government and sel-government bodies, demographic, ethnical, confessional, economical, social and cultural aspects.
