Course objectives
This course follows up Praktická cvičení 3. The aim of the course is the students' improving their practical knowledge of the language and the development of their language skills. Emphasis is on communication skills based on consistent practice of grammatical structures and systematic enlarging of vocabulary. Units 1-4 of the CAE Result student´s book are covered.   • 1. Unit 4: Into the wild, parts of an animal body. Text Saviours of the seas.
    2. Unit 4: Expressions with animals. Past tenses.
    3. Unit 4: Listening, speaking, writing.
    4. Unit 4: Use of English - open cloze. Review.
    5. Unit 5: Health matters. An unhealthy obsession. Vocabulary - health and fitness.
    6. Unit 5: Direct and indirect speech. Listening, speaking.
    7. Unit 5: Use of English and vocabulary - word formation.
    8. Unit 5: Writing, review.
    9. Unit 6: Superheroes. Vocabulary - verbs of moving and looking.
    10. Unit 6: Modal verbs. Listening.
    11. Unit 6: Speaking, Use of English - multiple-choice cloze. Vocabulary - expressions with RIGHT and LEFT.

The course is terminated with a complex exam taken by the student at the end of the semester. The exam consists of five parts: listening, grammar and vocabulary, writing, and reading in written, and the oral part.
