Course objectives
The cycle of lectures and seminars is dedicated to an overview of Italian literature from the 16th to the 18th century. The lectures aim to characterize a given period from a literary, historical and social point of view and to present the main authors of the period. The seminars focus on an analysis of a series of literary works. The course programme is freely completed by the course of Italian literature in film 2.

    7.-8. Il Seicento e il barocco
    9.-10. Il primo Settecento: il periodo dell'Arcadia e Carlo Goldoni
    11.-12. Il secondo Settecento: l'illuminismo, Parini e Alfieri
    13. Tra il Settecento e l'Ottocento: il neoclassicismo e il preromanticismo, Monti e Foscolo
