Course objectives

Students gain knowledge of the latest information technologies in the field of special information services libraries. Lectures are focused on the development of ICT and specialized information resources abroad and cooperation Czech libraries in international projects in the field of information services. They are also monitored by library information services on the Internet.

Syllabus (in Czech)

• 1. Definice a pojetí informačních služeb - terminologie a klasifikace; informační infrastruktura, ICT; informační služby, postavení a hodnocení IS v koncepčních materiálech; efektivnost IS; metody hodnocení IS; diferenciace IS a kategorizace
  2. Informační služby knihoven v prostředí internetu - historie internetu; služby pro zpřístupnění informací (WWW, FTP, aj.); fulltexty; vyhledavače, metavyhledavače
  3. Typologie informačních služeb knihoven - tradiční služby; nové možnosti služeb; odborné informační zdroje
  4. Specializované dokumentografické informační systémy - polytematické DgS; oborové DgS (medicína, biologie, exaktní vědy, zemědělství, společenské vědy); systémy pro šedou literaturu, patentové dokumenty, normativní dokumenty
  5. Oborové informační brány - charakteristika, typologie, tvorba; praktické příklady z ČR, EU, USA, aj.
  6. Elektronické informační zdroje - typologie, charakteristika, možnosti využití; využívání EIZ v knihovnicko-informačním prostředí; EIZ přístupné online; oborové EIZ; licenční zdroje a konsorcia
