Course objectives
The course offers students an overview of the Italian prose devolopment since the 1970's. The course aims at providing a general knowledge, from an historical-philological point of view, of the most renowned authors and literary movements in Italian prose. Specific attention is given to thorough analysis of single works, their context, linguistic and stilistic aspects. Students are supposed to read assigned excerpts in advance. The course completes the course cycle of Italian literature.
Learning outcomes
The students have a general knowledge of the main literary trends of the 20th century, they can place the most important Italian prose writers and their works in the literary and historical context, thay can subject a literary text to a formal and content analysis.
