- Course objectives
- The course aims to familiarize students with the specific contents of the everyday activities of a museum archaeologist. This includes work with collections, i.e. with collections of an archaeological museum nature that are subject to museum legislative standards (eg Act No. 122/2000 Coll. on the Protection of Museum Collections). In addition to the care of collection objects, the "National and Provincial Museums" are also scientific institutions, and part of the work of a museum archaeologist is also research. Museum work also includes archaeological preservation according to the diction of Act 20/1987 Coll., when many museums also participate in field research and surveys within the framework of their authorizations.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will have an idea of the work of a museum archaeologist. He will know the basic activities of a museum archaeologist, he will acquire a basic orientation in the problems of working with collection objects and their conservation, or working with museum inventory systems.
