Course objectives
The course broadens and deepens theoretical knowledge of cultural history and heritage in practical and organisational terms; it deepens skills in the application of accessible tourism. It introduces selected themes, cultural and historical events and destinations of the Czech-Polish/Austrian/German/Slovak cross-border regions, especially memory institutions (museums, open-air museums) and installed objects. It pays special attention to readiness of institutions/programmes for use in accessible tourism by people with specific needs (age, social, health and mental handicaps). It enables the understanding and comparison of different concepts of presentation, technical provision and accessibility, guiding practices, etc. It leads to students' independent thinking, which results in proposals for an alternative project/programme for the presentation, animation and interpretation of selected cultural and historical themes for people with specific needs, accompanying printed materials and aids, etc. The course is organized in cooperation with professional institutions focusing on activities related to the presentation and education of cultural heritage at homeland and in cross-border areas. Students can participate in ongoing project activities.

Examples of topic focus of the practice:
Broumov region and Czeski Kątek; Hradec nad Moravicí and Racibórz; urban reserves in Podyjí/Waldviertl and Silesia.
