Course objectives
In this course we deal with computer networks. The goal is to get familiar with the concept and the architecture of computer networks including wireless networks, their types, common protocols, network devices, techniques of network management.
Syllabus
  • 1. How a computer network works.
    2. Network hardware.
    3. Protocols, standardization, ISO/OSI reference model.
    4. Protocol Trays, TCP/IP Network Model.
    5. Transmission and transmission path characteristics.
    6. Local networks - Ethernet: frames, cables, transmission in half and full duplex.
    7. Functions on network and transport layer, IPv4, IPv6, TCP connections.
    8. Application protocols, network services, DNS.
    9. Network addresses and routing.
    10. Wireless and mobile networks.
    11. Network security and management.
    The content of the exercise follows and complements the content of the lectures.
