Stručná charakteristika předmětu: The aim of this course is to present the nature of mass media today, their place and functions within the modern society, and their effects on people?s lives and behaviour. During the course we will watch and discuss selected TV documentaries that deal with these issues. The core of the class work in the summer semester will be based on analyses of the language of the media, namely the language of newspapers and advertising.
