Stručná anotace předmětu: Student přichází na vysokou a je v krátkém časovém horizontu vystaven vysoké zátěži. Ta může být podstatně nižší, pokud si osvojí náležité metody. Cílem práce v semináři tedy je zvládnutí takových postupů, které studentovi umožní lepší organizaci času, zlepšení efektivity čtení, efektivní páci v semináři, bezproblémové psaní písemných zadání a přípravu na zkoušky. Protože je výuka vedena anglicky, přispívá práce v semináři i k náležitému rozvíjení jazykových dovedností. Sylabus: 1. Organizing your studies (personal timetable, student´s survival kit) 2. Improving your reading efficiency I (reading with purpose, using the title, surveying a book, surveying a chapter) 3. Improving your reading efficiency II (Scanning, multiple reading skills, understanding graphic presentations 4. Taking notes I (Aims, taking notes from a text, semantic markers, taking notes from a lecture) 5. Taking notes II (Using abbreviations, branching-pattern notes, note taking and reconstituting, group note taking) 6. Taking part in seminars I (Seminar activities, language of discussion, various kinds of topics) 7. Taking part in seminars II (Seminar practice) 8. Writing an essay I (|Research and using the library) 9. Writing an essay II (Organization) 10. Writing an essay III (Presentation) 11.
