- Stručná anotace předmětu: Přednáška a seminář navazují na Americkou literaturu 1 ve stejném duchu a soustřeďují se na období americké literatury od 2. světové války po současnost. Vzhledem k tomu, že tento předmět se snaží dát zejména přehled o různorodosti americké literatury 20. století, velká část je věnována i literaturám kultur mimo "hlavní proud" bělošské literatury. Zde se pak historický pohled vrací i za vymezené období. Sylabus přednášky: 1. War novel 2. Southern literature (Faulkner, Mc Cullers, Welthy, Styron) 3. Post-war poetry - New Criticism, projectivism, beat generation, confessional poetry, surrealism 4. Post-war prose - realism, minimalism, postmodernism 5. The New journalism, satire and lit. of absurdity 6. Theatre - Miller, Williams 7. Theatre of the absurd - Albee 8. Afro-American literature (Du Bois, Douglas, Wright, Dunbar, Harlem Renaissance) 9.
