Course objectives (in Czech)
Předmět pokrývá období britské literatury od počátků až do období Romantismu. Zaměřují se na klasické texty britské literatury, jako např. Canterburské povídky Geoffreyho Chaucera a na vývoj Alžbětinské poezie a dramatu. Hlavní důraz je kladen na poetické i dramatické dílo Williama Shakespeara v kontextu britské renesanční tvorby. V neposlední řadě se budou zabývat vývojem satiry a vznikem moderního románu. Sylabus: 1. Středověká literatura 2. Alžbětinská poezie a drama 3. Shakespeare: sonety 4. Shakespeare: komedie a historické hry 5. Shakespeare: tragédie 6. Metafyzičtí básníci 7. Období Restaurace 8. Politická próza 18. století 9. Poezie v 18. století 10. Počátky románu 11.
