Course objectives
Introduction to documentaries, videosamples from films. Documentary in relation to the historical context. Essential methods and expression instruments of the documentary. Audio-visual picture of reality as a new and specific form of interactive communication. Essential creative documentary methods (re-enactment, reportage & coverage). Audio-visual instruments of both world re-knowned and Czech documentary film makers. Genre range of documentary audio-visual works-of-art (portrayal, self-portrayal, diary, opinion poll, feuilleton, coverage, sports film). Video samples from films.
Syllabus (in Czech)
  • 1. Vývoj dokumentární tvorby, ukázky z filmů.
    2. Vztah dokumentu a dobového kontextu.
    3. Základní metodiky a výrazové prostředky dokumentárního filmu.
    4. AV obraz reality jako nová specifická forma sdělení i komunikace.
    5. Základní tvůrčí dokumentaristické metody (rekonstrukce, reportáž).
    6. Vyjadřovací prostředky světových a českých dokumentaristů.
    7. Žánrové spektrum dokumentárních AV děl (portrét, autoportrét, deník, anketa, fejeton, reportáž, sportovní film). Ukázky z filmů.
