Course objectives
The course will provide orientation in the organization of conservation in the Czech Republic and in the public provision of heritage assets. Cultural heritage is dealt as a matter of public interest, management of state property with cultural value which is entitled to manage the National Heritage Institute, state conservation funding sources, including the recovery of entrusted property and forms of its use. Students will be introduced to methods of direct and indirect public support for conservation, the management governmental organization National Heritage Institute and marketing monuments. Emphasis will be placed on learning organization, financing and management of state care of monuments in the Czech Republic. At the end of the lecture series will be offered a comparative view to the public conservation in other countries of the European Union.

    6. The legal framework for the functioning of the organization as a public service
    7. Specifics of competition and diversity in terms of heritage protection
    8. Political responsibility and protection of monuments and public monuments, communication
