Course objectives
The course presents heraldry as a part of cultural heritage and one of the basic auxiliary historical sciences that deals with coats of arms, respectively seals, both after the formal art, primarily in terms of their development and the social function of history and the present. Dismantling of the major and minor components of arms, most heraldic figures, as well as external and internal characteristics of seals, including the basics of correct heraldic description (blasonry ) and Sphragistics terminology .

  • 1. Heraldry - definition, basic functions, development of the discipline, the development of heraldic law
    2. The major and minor components of arms, heraldic figures and tinctures, principles of blazonry.
    3. Material sources heraldry
    4. Written sources of heraldry
    5. State and municipal heraldry
    6. Aristocratic and ecclesiastical heraldry
