- Course objectives
- The course aims to introduce students to comparative phonology as a problematic discipline and draw their attention to the contradictions of the various approaches and methods. It focuses on the questions of segments and suprasegment, where the main emphasis is on the role of syllable and its link to stress, rhythm and melody of speech.
