Course objectives
Lecture series focuses on the history of the building and historical research, theory and practical implementation. Therefore combines both lecture series in the classroom, focusing on the first two basic blocks, and lectures in the field, where there are a direct analysis procedures and demonstration model situations. Theoretical block comes with the standard methods of non-destructive and historic building surveys as they positioned themselves at the end of the 90th 20th century and early 21st age. It deals with links to conservation practices, legal aspects, the importance of detailed surveys, etc. Attention is also paid to the theories and terms of practical applications as well as most other surveys (e.g. restoration, technological, dendrological , structural , operational documentation , etc.) . To illustrate the basic principles of the historic building survey is the last part of the cycle, the analysis presented in the field, where Opava and its surroundings provide a number of sample problem areas.
Syllabus
  • 1. The roots of historical building surveys, their preliminary part of the construction activities from the earliest known cases of the application of architectural and historic practice 19th century.
    2. Development of historical research in building construction and conservation practice 1 half of the 20th century.
    3. Architectural and historical research in the R - project and subsequently SÚRPMO and its share of the constitution generally applicable rules building and historical research.
    4. Building and historical research and its theoretical foundations
    5. Types of standard non-destructive building and historical research
    6. Meaning , components and design documentation requirements in the standard non-destructive building and historical research , role , objectives and procedures for archival research, literary research , the problem of interdependence and autonomy archival and literature research with the testimony of a particular object on the basis of a survey or construction work, meaning and relevance assessment list defects, suggestions for further care of the object or objects.
    7. Building and historical research in the context of binding legislation on conservation.
    8. Restoration surveys, their types, binding to a basic non-destructive SHP and legal context of the law of conservation areas.
    9. Technological research, overview of the basic types, with regard to the standard non-destructive, building and historical research, legal formalities.
    10. Destructive building and historical research, its admissibility, or need legal context , methods of documentation. Sounding surveys, their methods, scope , objectives , relationship to the standard restoration or technological research purposes.
    11. Operational research and documentation in the process of conservation , field sketches and documentation , record modes , targets, further treatment and recovery.
    12. The role of building and historical research in the process of artistic and historical knowledge objects and the role of SHP in the optimal conservation.
