Course objectives
To acquaint students with the problems of archaeological research, with its off-road parts and cabinet memorandum processing. Classes will be based on concrete practical examples of the application of different methods of archaeological research sample documentation. Students will solve different scenarios of archaeological research and apply ICT in the evaluation of the results of archaeological research. Classes will take place partly in a foreign language.

  • 1 / General Introduction, the issue of endangered and research intrepid sites terminology.
    2 / Sounding research, their strategies, goals.
    3 / Large-scale surveys, their strategies, goals.
    4 / vertical practices outcrop - "checkerboard" methods, "box grids", a combination of techniques, practical examples.
    5 / Horizontal procedures uncovering - the mechanical layers outcrop and stratigraphic method reveals a combination of techniques, practical examples.
    6 / Form method of recording archaeological sources - analysis, determination of interpretation, criticism.
    7 / Interpretation of archaeological sites - flowcharts.
    8 / Creation stratigraphic matrix - spreadsheets, special stratigraphic schemes, the output from the database.
    9 / Working with archaeological data. Structuring data.
    10 / Mathematical and statistical analysis I.
    11 / Mathematics and Statistics II
    12 / ICT Application in Agenda archaeological research.
