Course objectives
The course offers students an overview of the Italian prose devolopment in the 20th century. The course aims at providing a general knowledge, from an historical-philological point of view, of the most renowned authors and literary movements in Italian prose. Specific attention is given to thorough analysis of several chosen works, their context, linguistic and stilistic aspects. Students are supposed to read assigned excerpts in advance. The course completes the course cycle of Italian literature and it is also connected with the course of Italian literature in film 2.
