Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The aim of the course is to review options for reproduction of audio-visual works. The students will be informed of principles used in audio-visual reproduction. The course will introduce students to the methods of storing/reading data on/from data-storage medium and to a variety of different types of data-storage devices. Topics include signal encoding and decoding techniques, audio/video data recording/reproducing devices and options for video (movies) projections. The course will also cover a practical application of recording/reproducing devices.
Syllabus
  • 1. Principles of analog AV work record, parameters and possibilities of analog record.
    2. Particular variations of the analog record and reproduction of the AV work.
    3. Today used analog and digital technology - an overview.
    4. Principles of digital record of AV work, parameters of the today's digital recording.
    5. Particular variations of digital recording, general knowledge of HW and SW.
    6. Reproduction possibilities of the digital record, summary of the HW (modern receivers) and SW players.
    7. AV reproduction systems - mono, stereo, multichannel reproduction to 7 + 2, including the practical realization by the students under the guidance of a teacher.
