Basic course in data transmission systems using copper and optic cables.
Syllabus
  • Properties of copper cable for LF and HF transmission.
    Attenuation, skin effect, frequency range, crosstalk, phase shift, group delay, mismatch and standing waves.
    Coaxial line, TEM waves.
    UTP/STP wiring.
    Connectors.
    Digital and analog data transmission.
    Realization of analog and digital transmission.
    Properties of optical lines.
    Application of optical lines.
