Course objectives
The course provides an overview of the main American literary movements since the Colonial period. The main emphasis is placed upon the pluralistic nature of American writing from its very beginning until contemporary times.

Regular attendance to the seminars, reading of the assigned texts and a successful completion of a written test which would prove the students` ability to apply theoretical background upon texts.
