- Course objectives
- The course will provide students with basic knowledge of the physical quantities determining the physical environment and methods of measurement and measurement principles applicable to the measurement. The course is divided into two parts. This Part II includes physical theory, physical methods and measurement principles that are relevant to the issue of measuring non-ionizing radiation. Emphasis is placed on the physical nature of the problem and the application of physical theory to the measurement of non-ionizing radiation and protection from the adverse effects of this radiation.
- Syllabus
- Non-ionizing and ionizing radiation . Definition of radiation sources ( natural , artificial ) , particle and wave theory of light ( radiation) , the quantum nature of light. Basic theory of fields . Non-ionizing radiation and field ? electric and magnetic fields - physical quantities , unified theory of electromagnetic field EMP - Maxwell's equations , a unified theory of electroweak forces. Energy effects of EMP - Poytingův vector. EMF and spectrum allocation by wavelengths ( frequencies ) .
