Course objectives
The objective of this subject is to teach students to work with desktop publishing systems and to help them create different types of documents. Obtained knowledge and skills should help them write academic works and present their ideas at conferences.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- identify rules that need to be maintained when creating documents;
- create different types of documents;
- present ideas and results of his/her work in an appropriate way.

  • 1. Typography
  • 2. Typeface - Font Classification, Typometric System, Typographic Font
  • 3. Typesetting - Canons of Page Construction, Normal Typesetting, Technical Typesetting, Foreign Language Typesetting, Typesetting of Czech Language, Proofs
  • 4. Print design - Book, Article, Poster Design
  • 5. DTP Software - Definition, Types, Basics of Work in DTP, Application of Typesetting Rules in the DTP System
