The aim of the course is to present the issue of light pollution in the form of seminars and field exercises.

  • - Light as electromagnetic waves. Light sources. Light propagation. Spectral characteristics of light sources. - Measurement of light sources. Types of light sources. - Constructions and concepts in the field of public lighting. Concepts in the field of interior lighting. - Getting acquainted with the issue of light pollution, definitions and current legislation. Situation in the Czech Republic and in the world. - Measurement of light pollution. - Field exercise. - Influence of light on circadian rhythms, basic concepts of chronobiology - Impact on nature. Protection of the night environment. - Negative and positive effects of light.
