Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
1. Summary of Galilean relativity 2. Postulates of the special theory of relativity 3. Lorentz transformation and its consequences 4. Minkowski spacetime 5. Tensor formalism 6. Relativistic mechanics 7. Relativistic electrodynamics, four-vector of the current density, four-potential, tensor of the electromagnetic field. Notation of Maxwell's equations in covariant form. 8. Electric field of moving charges 9. Classical field theory, scalar field, Klein-Gordon equation, charged scalar fields, Proca fields, Dirac fields.
