Course objectives
The subject is aimed at unification of the students level of knowledge in vocabulary, grammar and syntax, with emphasis on communicative function and harmonious development of all four language skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking). It is based on the fact that the level of language skills of incoming students is different and therefore are grouped according to their level of knowledge (beginners, intermediate and advanced).
Syllabus
  • The work will focus on the following topics:
    Pronunciation
    Vocabulary (the ability to look up the required expression from both sides of the dictionary, choose the most suitable equivalent for the purpose of translation and context. Ability to derive a word created by using a prefixes, suffixes, folding, with metaphorical meanings depending on the context of the sentence).
    Grammar
    o Nouns (Basic rules of use of articles, countable, uncountable nouns, singular, plural)
    o Adjectives and adverbs (Comparison of adjectives and adverbs,creation of adverbs, positioning of adverbs in a sentence, the definite article before superlatives - for advanced)
    o Pronouns (demonstrative, interrogative, personal and subjective in the shape and possessive independent and a dependent, relative, indefinite).
    o Numbers (Basic, row, multiple, dates, dates.)
    o Verbs (regular, irregular, modal can, imperative, gerund. For more advanced then the passive voice, past tense, present perfect tense)
