Course objectives
LECTURE Subject is aimed at the familiarization with personality psychology as a psychology discipline that summarizes psychological findings about the shaping of human mental life. The lectures are a set of theoretical knowledge assembled in a system. After completion of this course students should acquire skills enabling them to think in a complex way about clients in a certain context applying their knowledge of social pathology and its prevention. The content of lectures forms the basis for subsequent courses of applied psychology and pedagogy. SEMINAR The students can within the seminar use practical forms of group work for more efficient self-reflection, experiencing a model situations and practicing skills based on good understanding of human psychical condition. Furthermore, the subject extends the topics of lectures with a goal to teach students to analyze certain topics and actively and independently search information for a selected subject. These given topics are complementary and specify individual fields of individuals psychical states in more detail. Students will select a topic which they will study from common subject-related literature, and process them as a seminar work and will discuss this topic in the course of a seminar. Studying requirements Exam: contents of fundamental literature and lectures. Credit: presentation and submission of seminar work, fulfilment of activities, midterm test, attendance

  • LECTURE
    1. Personality psychology in the psychology disciplines system. Subject of personality psychology. Research strategies of personality psychology.
    2. Personality. Inner and outer sources of shaping and personality development.
    3. Concept of "me", creation and development of "me" consciousness, components, defensive mechanisms.
    4. Endogenous and exogenous personality theory.
    5. Personality typology. Summary of the main constitutional and psychological personality typology.
    6. Structure of personality. Psychological characteristics of personality.
    7. Activation motivational personality traits
    8. (attitudes, values and human value system, patterns).
    9. Character, conscience, personal morality.
    10. Performance characteristics of personality (abilities, intelligence and creativity).
    11. Self-regulating proprieties of personality (volition and willpower, self-awareness, self-knowledge, self-concept, self-criticism).
    12. Dynamic properties of personality (temperament, emotionality).
    13 Conflict, frustration, anxiety,ways to address frustrating situations.
    SEMINAR
    1. Who am I ? (exercise for shaping awareness, recognition and appreciation of their own historical, cultural, national origin, according to David W. Johnson).
    2. Psychological theories of personality in their own pictures (exercises for reflect to theories of Freud, Jung, Adler) with follow-up discussions).
    3. Measurement of personality traits by Locus of control test.
    4. Exercises for determination of their own personality type.
    5. Social and personal immigrants identity.
    6. Aggressiveness of the personality. Overview of aggression theories and its application in the prevention of socio-pathological phenomena.
    7. The metrosexual and narcissistic personality disorder phenomenon.
    8. Delinquent and deviant personality behaviour. Self-destructive behaviour (suicide, drug addiction, alcoholism, fanaticism, etc.) Possibilities of prevention and therapy.
    9. Personality of the criminal. Socio-psychological and biological concepts of criminal behaviour.
    10. Adjustment, impaired social adaptation. Psychological assistance, ethnopsychoterapy..
    11. Self-regulating proprieties of personality (volition and willpower, self-reflection, self-concept, etc.).
    12. Dynamic properties of personality (temperament, emotionality) and their inclusion in work with clients.
    13 Relational attitudinal personality characteristics (attitudes, value system, ideals).
    14. Multiculturalism and the changing of attitudes.
