Course objectives
The course Communal politics is aimed at renewal of Czech democratic communal politics in 1989 and 1990 and its development in 1990-2009. The development of the Czech communal politics will be analysed both in its administrative aspect and especially its political (results of communal elections, changes of partial system, replacement of political elites atc.). The course includes also a part dedicated to European aspect of communal policy and supra-national representation of municipalities in European political territory.

    3.Socio-political changes after World War II and Czech communal policy
    4.Communal policy in the territory of the Czech Republic in the period of communist regime (1948-1960)
    5. Communal policy in the territory of the Czech Republic in the period of communist regime (1960-1989)
    6.Year 1989 on local level - renewal of democratic communal autonomy
    7.New political elites, renewal of political party spirit on local level
    8. Czech communal politics in years 1990-1998
    9. Czech communal politics in years 1998-2006
    10. Czech communal politics since 2006 till present day
    11.European aspect of Czech communal politics
    12. Supra-national representation of communal politics in European political territory (Committee of the Regions, European network of towns)
