Prerequisites
Writing of essay of at least 7 pages on the topic. Comparison of two selected approaches in social work. Each student selects topic (2 accesses) and he/she may consult it within 14 days with the teacher. Literature that students will use, will be a minimum range of 3 books from the offered titles of basic literature and 1 book from the offered titles of literature that is recommended. The basic criterion for assessing the quality of paper will be demonstration of the ability to work with texts, with an emphasis on linking of suitable thesis of the individual authors into a coherent logical framework. The next is the ability to translate theoretical knowledge into practice of social work with the client.
Students submit their paper/essay at least two weeks before the credit week. The teacher have the opportunity to evaluate the essay and possibly to return it for further reprocessing via e-mail. During the consultations (personal, electronic) student may use the time for resolving ambiguities in the processing tasks. Writing of essay is a prerequisite to obtaining credit.

Course objectives
LECTURE The course provides a basic understanding of terminology, history and education in social work and introduces students to selected theories of social work and focuses on methods of social work. Briefly outline the problems of specific target groups and work with them in the seminar students will be able to practice the theoretical knowledge test. The aim of this course is to provide a functional connection of the theoretical base with practical application of lessons learned.

    1st Definition of social work, objectives, development and anchorage in the social sciences.
    2nd Personality social worker, claims the social worker profession. The relationship of social worker- client. Burnout. Supervision.
    3rd Ethical principles and values in social work ethical codes.
    4th The relationship of social work and theory. The importance of theory to practice.
    5th The client-oriented approach in social work.
    6th A target-oriented approach in social work.
    7th Systemic approach in social work.
    8th Antiopresing approaches in social work.
    9th Social work with individuals.
    10th Social work and family.
    11th Social work with the group.
    12th Social work with the community.
    13th Social work and social services. The Act on Social Services.
