Course objectives
The course is conceived as a theoretical-practical one. The aim is to introduce students to the basic concepts of general, developmental, health and social psychology. A substantial part is formed by developmental psychology whose aim is to provide basic knowledge about the physical and psychological human development at all its developmental stages. Having completed the course, students will be well versed in developmental theories and characteristics of each ontogenic period. They will be able to understand the manifestations of the behaviour of clients of all ages.
Learning outcomes
Professional Knowledge: Students can describe and explain the various psychological disciplines and navigate developmental psychology in different age groups, including the disabled. Students are able to define concepts of psychological disciplines. They understand verbal and non-verbal expressions of the client is are able to adequately respond to them. They become familiar with the psychology of the healthy and handicapped and able to select the appropriate psychological approach.
Professional Skills: Students are able to cope with stressful situations of clients, fear, pain and anxiety in a dental office.
General Qualification: Students are able to decide independently and choose the right type of communication and psychological approach to individual clients responsibly.
Competences: Students can provide individuals, families, groups and their relatives with relevant information in an appropriate form. The handle stressful situations in a dental office, anxiety, fear, pain. They can exert adequate influence on the clients. They can understand their behaviour.

Personality psychology: personality theory, the term "I" 5. Personality psychology: personality structure, activating motivational qualities 6. Personality psychology: temperament and character 7. Personality psychology: self-regulatory and performance characteristics of personality. 8. Developmental psychology: basic theoretical definition, developmental theories 9. Developmental psychology: prenatal psychology, psychology of early children 10. Developmental psychology: preschool age, school maturity, younger school age. 11. Developmental psychology: adolescence 12. Developmental psychology: adulthood and old age
