Course objectives
The aim of the course English 4 is that the graduates are able to lead basic communication in English about topics relating to their future profession, orientation in these topics (specialized word-stock in PA 1), as well as development of language skills of general English. The focus will be put on all parts of study of Language: Writing, Reading, Listening, grammar and especially on part FCE SPEAKING. Accompanying grammar material: test according to the certificate FCE - SPEAKING. In the group of pre-intermediate students there will be revison of pre-intermediate language skills, unifies the language level of the students. The excercises will be focused on all areas of language study: grammar, reading, listening, reading, and especially on the part of PET SPEAKING. Accompanying grammar material: test according to the certificate PET - SPEAKING. Study Outcomes: Professional Knowledge: Students will acquire basic knowledge of and vocabulary for social issues and their possible solutions, they will be able to speak about general product characteristics, diet and cooking and about changes and trends. General Skills: Students will be able to express unreal condition in the past and describe events using passive voice. General Qualification: Students will be able to respond to customer comments and requests, and they will acquire more incentives for further active learning of languages. Practical part of language instruction is focused on mastering communication in professional and general English. Testing by the FCE test, part SPEAKING (intermediate). Testing by the PET test, part SPEAKING (pre-intermediate). Competences: Students will be able to handle complaints over the phone, they will be well informed on negotiations with the public, law, personal finance, able to describe the operation of an organization, financial management and the possibilities of their personal development.
