- Course objectives
- The aim of the subject is to support the student in the preparation of the diploma thesis and preparation for its defense within the state final examination.
- Learning outcomes
- Expertise:
- the student knows the theoretical essence of the thesis topic
- the student can describe the structure of his thesis and its content
- the student knows the current form and template for writing final theses at FVP SLU
- the student orients himself in the topic, is able to analyze the theoretical basis of the topic
- the student knows the research criteria and methodology
- the student can correctly process the methodological part of his empirical part
- the student can characterize the goals, methods and techniques of research
Professional skills:
- the student can work on a thesis project independently
- the student can look up the chosen topic in the professional literature
- the student can perform research
- the student can analyze and compare theoretical starting points
- the student can develop a research methodology
- the student can obtain data and information for specific research and can process them
- the student sees clear connections between the goals and outputs of the thesis
General qualifications:
- the student is able to express his own opinion in the area of the chosen special pedagogical topic

- 1. Assignment of the thesis topic with an emphasis on its topicality, familiarization with the requirements for theoretical study, basic literature
- 2. Formulation of the main goal of the work, research problem, sub-goals, research questions, or hypothesis. Outline of the content of the theoretical starting points, clarification of the formulation of the research problem (or hypothesis) of the practical part
- 3. Organization of research, choice of methods and techniques for gathering research data, determination of the schedule of the research part, choice of research support
- 4. Preparation for data collection to verify research questions, or hypothesis. Ongoing study of theoretical sources for processing the theoretical part
- 5. Updating the schedule of the research part, finalizing the research support. Pilot validation of research instruments
- 6. Clarification of the research methodology, content of the theoretical part, formal arrangement, citations according to the required standards
- 7. Progress of research implementation according to the established schedule, updating the schedule and specifying research tools
- 8. Processing of collected data and interpretation of results, evaluation and interpretation of research data
- 9. Finalization of the working version of the theoretical part, closing the theoretical part of the work. Completion of the practical part of the work, evaluation of the goals of the work, clarification of the appendix part
- 10. Drawing up the main conclusions, deriving recommendations for practice, or discussion. Completion of the theoretical and practical part, introduction, conclusion, summary
- 11. Consultation of the final comments on the empirical part. Completion of the formal side of the final thesis (stylistically, linguistically and grammatically correct expression)

- Assessment methods
- The student prepares a diploma thesis under the supervision of his supervisor. Continuously consults, continuously submits the text for review according to the specified instructions and parameters, in the agreed terms. The supervisor of the diploma thesis directs the student to the study of professional literature and professionally guides the student step by step to the processing of the theoretical part according to the assigned topic, research methodology, data analysis and conclusions of the diploma thesis on the topic of special education.

- The course can also be completed outside the examination period.
- Teacher's information
- Personal contact in consultation hours and as agreed with the teacher. During ongoing studies, the student follows the established schedule according to the Principles for the preparation of the final thesis. The student will be able to continuously consult individually studied subject topics via e-mail, individual or group consultations. At the same time, he will prove his knowledge of compulsory literature.
