Course objectives
The aim of the course English for Public Administration is that the graduates are able to lead basic communication in English about topics relating to their future profession, orientation in these topics (specialized word-stock in PA 1), as well as development of language skills of general English. The focus will be put on all parts of study of Language: Grammar, Writing, Listening, Speaking and especially on part Reading. In the group of pre-intermediate (those who have attended language courses and self-learners) the elementary language skills and thematic circles will be deepened according to textbook English 365 Book 2, the language level of the students will be unified. The testing according to KET certificate will serve as a supplementary material. In the group of intermediate (secondary school graduates and those who have passed maturita exam from English), the elementary findings are developed deeper and the specialized word-stock and thematic circles according to English 365, Book 3 is being enlarged notably. The testing according to PET certificate will serve as a supplementary material. With regard to high demands of specialised topics, the course is not realized for the group Beginners. The course is intended for Department of Public Administration and Regional Policy students only.

Teacher's information
The students are obliged to pass a test from specialised word-stock of PA1. Pre -intermediate students will write as a pre-exam test a KET test - part READING. Intermediate students will write as a pre-exam test a PET test - part READING .
