Course objectives
LECTURE This course is an overview of criminology, the science filling the information gap between the social pathologies and penology. The aim is to understand the concept, object, tasks and development of criminology, also recognize the motivation of individuals committing crimes and gaining insight into the situation of victims of crime especially in the field of psychology and psychotherapy. The important thing is considered to be familiar with the structure of crime prevention programs in the Czech Republic as well as strategies to combat crime in general. SEMINAR The aim of the seminar is to introduce current topics in the field of criminology, criminalistics, forensic psychology, victimology, and also the possibilities of using the knowledge of the disciplines especially in caregiving professions

    Criminogenic factors.
    Types of crime and its category.
    Crime and its recognition.
    Solving serious intentional crimes.

    Victimology - the doctrine of sacrifice.
    Crime prevention, crime prevention system in the Czech Republic.
    Crime Prevention Strategy. Systematic approach for caring for juvenile offenders.
    Crime prevention program.
    SEMINAR
    Mental diseases and disorders and their role in committing crime.
    The issue of motivation of different types of violent crimes
    Violent crime among children and adolescents.
    History of crime profiling.
    The position of the victim and the impact of crime on the victim.
    Children as victims of crime.
    Dealing with crime victims and victim assistance
    Personality of the investigators and professional skills in the process of solving a crime.
