Course objectives
This subject is aimed at enlarging knowledge in the frame of general English. The aim is to develop the students in the area of reading with comprehension, listening with comprehension, conversation, use of English in an office. In this part, the word stock will be widen with focus on word building and the ability to use grammatical rules will be developed. Essential part of this subject is specialised English. The topics will correspond to specialization of the students. This section will be focused on ability of composition of scientific article, report, speech or letter and development of word stock of given topic. The materials will be selected from various sources, e.g. newspaper articles. The tutorial will pay attention to communication. The conversation and listening topics will be elaborated according to BBC or other original sources. The stress will be put on all levels of language study: Speaking, Reading, Listening and especially on part Writing. The subject is intended for students of Department of public administration and regional policy only.
