Course objectives
The aim of the subject Microeconomic Analysis is to introduce the basic economic categories and mutual relations between them to the students. Then, the subject´s task is to give the fundamental theoretical knowledge in the field of microeconomics. It concerns mainly goods, market and its elements, consumer and producer behaviour, incomes, costs and profit, factor markets and role of the state in the economics from the point of view of microeconomics.
Syllabus
  • 1. Basic terms and relations of economics.
    2. Market and its basic elements.
    3. Demand, demand influencing factors.
    4. Rational consumer behaviour, cardinal and ordinal concept, individual demand formation.
    5. Choice of technology and production, profit of the firm, costs and revenues.
    6. Perfect competition model.
    7. Imperfect competition models.
    8. Factor market: land market.
    9. Factor market: labour market.
    10. Factor market: capital market.
    11. Distribution of income in society.
    12. Microeconomic role of the state and market failure.
